HA CHEW! God bless you

Londyn has a cold. It's been a few days now and I am so confused do I send her to the doctor or not. Is it really a cold or maybe she is just teething. I worry about bronchitis or croup. I know they can't take medication and her buddy Dylan has a cold and they told him to get Vick vapor rub for babies and nasal spray. So that's what we have been doing but she still sounds like she has smokers cough. I told Josh to set up the humidifier in her room but apparently I registered for a air purifier, great. My friend told me there is a 3 day rule with babies, unless of course it's really bad you should wait 3 days to see if they get better. The best part is that after she coughs and coughs she gives me the biggest smile. I'm glad she is a tough girl. Then there is daddy downing airborne because he thinks she is giving him a cold haha! MEN they are such babies when they are sick a simple cold is the end of the world. No wonder they can't have babies they wouldn't be able to handle it. So let's hope her nose stops running, she stops coughing and sneezing and that she still wakes up with that huge smile I can't get enough of.

Londyn nursery, a long time in the making

Londyn nursery is finally complete.  I have been visualizing and creating this room since I was 4 months pregnant.  The room was a green tea color and was our office at one time.  I have a obsession for birds and if you saw my house now the bird theme is in her room and in our guest room.  I didn't want to make Josh re paint the room so I had to work around it.  I'm not a pink pink kind of girl so I decided to go with peach.  Well finding peach bedding and drapes was impossible.  So I got this crazy idea to find fabric and have my mother make everything.  I was totally nuts over all the little details.  When we got the furniture it had these brown knobs that looked more masculine.  I searched everywhere for pink knobs.  I already was spending a fortune on the room so I finally came across some glass pink flower knobs on eBay, originally from Anthropologie.  After researching many nurseries I loved the idea of these decals on the wall.  I ended up getting them from etsy.com.  My plan was to have one go over the crib but when they came in I didn't realize I should have changed the size so it looks like the branch is coming out of the corner rather then floating over the crib.  So we spent some more money and bought a bigger one for over the crib and put the smaller one over the changing table, LOVE the way it turned out.  The lamp was plain when we ordered it so I knew I had to jazz it up to look feminine.  We went to my friends wedding and she had these crystals on her center piece.  I had everyone at the table take some crystals then I spend hours sewing them to the lamp.  The mirror I got for $7 at ikea it was perfect!  The birds holding up the mirror was black so I spray painted them white.  I got the drapes, silk dupioni for a crazy sale price.  All 4 panels cost like $25, the lining cost more.  You will never find silk for that price.  The shag rug is perfect and I found that at JCPenny.  The ribbon on the bedding was from one of our hat factories in China, I love perks.  The last piece of the room I wanted to get her bedding monogrammed.  I was so happy at the way it turned out, then to find out I had the letters in the wrong order.  So being the perfectionist I am I had my mother go back and get it re done.  The mini rocker was a steal.  I found it in the garbage down the street, I made Josh turn around right when I saw it.  He being the talented carpenter fixed the broken arm, changed the fabric, and stained it.  Of course it has birds on it as well.  So finally it is complete almost 1 year in the making and I love it!

I want to thank my mother for being the most talented sewer and making her granddaughter the beautiful bedding set and drapes.  I love you mom!

I also want to thank Lisa for the glider.  This was one of the best gifts from my shower.  I love gliding on it and reading Londyn books before she goes to sleep.

Sorry for the many pictures I'm just so proud of this nursery.

Orange you excited for orange veggies

5 months mark, time for orange veggies for Londyn.  It was a little messy well a lot messy.  She loved the sweet potatoes and the carrots.  It's been 2 days and she does throw up a little after we feed her.  I'm going to have to call the doctor tomorrow maybe it's just not settling with her belly.

Happy 5 months Londyn

Londyn turned 5 months today.  Luckily blogspot lets me change the date on my blogs because it was a Wednesday and since I'm a working mom now I had to wait until Saturday to take the pictures.

Londyn is probably 12 pounds now maybe 13.  She is growing up so fast and changing everyday.  Some of the things she loves to do are
- talk mostly blah blah blah
- turn on her stomach and sometimes sleep that way
- smile
- laugh
- sit up
- loves to eat
- grab things especially her pacifier and sometimes she is able to put it back in her mouth
- she follows voices
- watch TV (just like her mommy)

Her photo shoots are becoming quite challanging since she now realizes what mommy is putting her through, see for yourself

I got my ears pierced so please stop calling me a boy!

Today Londyn got her ears pierced.  Two things that drive me crazy.  #1 When people ask what's his name #2 when people ask me when I'm expecting.  I'm working on my part so I figured earings the perfect way to show everyone Londyn is a girl.  I have heard that it still doesn't stop people from thinking she is a boy.  Why would I think so the pink blanket and pink toys never gave people a clue.  Anyway I couldn't make it to her appointment so I sent my mother.  I actually can't take the look on her face when she gets hurt and oye that cry kills me, sorry mom.  Nonna said she was a trooper and only cried for 5 seconds.  The pictures make made me feel like I was there.  I wanted silver since I'm not a gold person but they only had yellow gold and this isn't about me and she looks adorable, they match her hair.

After the appointment nonna took Londyn and Lyla to the park for Londyn first swing ride.  By the look of her face it looks like I have a swing lover, but what little kid doesn't love the swings.

Why am I here?

What's going on?

OUCH!!! HELP ME!!!

Am I alive?

How do I look?

Well that was all worth it!  I love this swing!

Party fun - Alyssa birthday

Today was Alyssa birthday.  It was crazy getting ready because Josh was working so it was all me.  I actually think I'm pretty good with timing situation.  I make sure I plan out the whole morning so we aren't late or crazy.  Even though I end up getting up at 630 am and don't stop it all works out.  When I found out about the party the first thing I thought of was what is Londyn going to wear for her first birthday party.  Of course I had this outfit 1 month prior.  I thought she looked adorable and can't believe what this red tutu does to her hair.  RED! She's still my perfect baby.  Day was nice, I was really looking forward to seeing everyone.  Here are some pictures from the day.

Alyssa the birthday girl #1

On a side note today is also the 9th anniversary of September 11, 2001.  Londyn this tragic event will be taught to you in school.   We will always remember that day and I pray for all the families who have lost someone.

Londyn first sleepover

Last night we had the pleasure of having over Lyla, my niece.  Lyla just loves Londyn and Londyn smiles every time she hears Lyla's voice.  We went out for ice cream, sang songs (well Lyla told me I had to dance and she would sing) and watched Bug's Life.  Lyla made me play I Need you Now over and over.  Funny how she loves that song and I just blogged that I loved it too.  Sorry the pictures are from my iPhone so it's not so clear.  Londyn is starting to sit up on her own, so I had to capture it.

Nonna I think it's time for my bumper

This morning Londyn woke up much earlier then usual.  So I had to have her stay in her crib which she did quietly while I got ready for work.  I got out of the shower and didn't know what to do cry or laugh at what I found.  I knew she wasn't like this all night so I think that's why I was so light about it.  My mother has been making her bedding for around 10 5 months now, so once I sent her this picture, first thing she said was it will be ready this weekend.  Stay tuned for pictures of her nursery.

This is how I ROLL

It was 4:00 and I see a text from Josh saying one video message. I know it's of Londyn, we like to do that when we aren't all together.  I open the video not understanding because it isn't your normal video it was a video of a video, anyway not important. There she was Miss Londyn rolling over so fast if you blink your eyes you would miss it. The first thing I thought was yay Londyn mommy is so proud of you. Then I wanted to cry because even though this wasn't the first time she rolled over but it was the first time she did it without struggling and getting her arm caught, I still missed it. I was just sad this was the first milestone I missed because I'm a working mom. I do feel blessed to have Grandma and Nonna watching her. Just a side note grandma has one more week left with Londyn. We are all so proud she landed a good job and will go back to work full-time, go grandma Mel. Anyway if this happened in a daycare I wouldn't have received this video, thanks for getting her first super roll on camera grandma!

Londyn first actual rolling over was 4 1/2 months to the day!
