Londyn nursery, a long time in the making

Londyn nursery is finally complete.  I have been visualizing and creating this room since I was 4 months pregnant.  The room was a green tea color and was our office at one time.  I have a obsession for birds and if you saw my house now the bird theme is in her room and in our guest room.  I didn't want to make Josh re paint the room so I had to work around it.  I'm not a pink pink kind of girl so I decided to go with peach.  Well finding peach bedding and drapes was impossible.  So I got this crazy idea to find fabric and have my mother make everything.  I was totally nuts over all the little details.  When we got the furniture it had these brown knobs that looked more masculine.  I searched everywhere for pink knobs.  I already was spending a fortune on the room so I finally came across some glass pink flower knobs on eBay, originally from Anthropologie.  After researching many nurseries I loved the idea of these decals on the wall.  I ended up getting them from etsy.com.  My plan was to have one go over the crib but when they came in I didn't realize I should have changed the size so it looks like the branch is coming out of the corner rather then floating over the crib.  So we spent some more money and bought a bigger one for over the crib and put the smaller one over the changing table, LOVE the way it turned out.  The lamp was plain when we ordered it so I knew I had to jazz it up to look feminine.  We went to my friends wedding and she had these crystals on her center piece.  I had everyone at the table take some crystals then I spend hours sewing them to the lamp.  The mirror I got for $7 at ikea it was perfect!  The birds holding up the mirror was black so I spray painted them white.  I got the drapes, silk dupioni for a crazy sale price.  All 4 panels cost like $25, the lining cost more.  You will never find silk for that price.  The shag rug is perfect and I found that at JCPenny.  The ribbon on the bedding was from one of our hat factories in China, I love perks.  The last piece of the room I wanted to get her bedding monogrammed.  I was so happy at the way it turned out, then to find out I had the letters in the wrong order.  So being the perfectionist I am I had my mother go back and get it re done.  The mini rocker was a steal.  I found it in the garbage down the street, I made Josh turn around right when I saw it.  He being the talented carpenter fixed the broken arm, changed the fabric, and stained it.  Of course it has birds on it as well.  So finally it is complete almost 1 year in the making and I love it!

I want to thank my mother for being the most talented sewer and making her granddaughter the beautiful bedding set and drapes.  I love you mom!

I also want to thank Lisa for the glider.  This was one of the best gifts from my shower.  I love gliding on it and reading Londyn books before she goes to sleep.

Sorry for the many pictures I'm just so proud of this nursery.
